Strengthened business relations between Serbia and Hungary
A joint meeting of presidency members (managing boards) of the Chamber of Economy of Vojvodina and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Csongrad county was held on 16/06/2017 in Novi Sad, Serbia, with the aim of creating new interregional business contacts and intensifying the already existing ones.
The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, Mr. Boško Vučurević, emphasised that Hungary is one of the most important foreign trade partners of Serbia, with more than 1,8 billion EUR of annaul external trade volumes being realized between the two countries. In the first quarter of 2017, the bilateral trade exchange was increased even by an amazing 40%.
The president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Csongrad Country, Mr Pál Nemesi explained that the meetings like this are not only important for establishing long lasting and successful business contacts, but are also inevitable for spotting the areas for future fruitful cooperations. One of the most important areas for cooperation is undoubtedly tourism, but the numerous cross-border funding possibilities should also be kept in mind when planning the future activities between the actors of business sphere on both sides of the border.
After signing the cooperation agreement by the two chambers in April 2017, concrete actions have been carried out for strengthening the business relations between Vojvodina and Csongrad County: a business delegation from Csongrad County visited the Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, followed by the current joint meeting of the presidency members. The strong cooperation will be continued with sectorial B2B meetings that will be organised in the near future and with a touristic presentation of Vojvodina in Szeged at the beginning of September.
